The 9th “perennial” Trails & Trilliums is an event
sponsored by the Friends of South Cumberland (FSC) at the
Monteagle Assembly, which is just a few blocks off 1-24 in
Monteagle, TN, near Sewanee.
A great slate of activities is planned for the environmental
festival, which attracts hundreds of hikers, wildflower
enthusiasts, gardeners and families. This year’s event will
include a celebration of the 75th Anniversary of
Tennessee State Parks. On the schedule:

An expanded native plant
sale to be
held in the Assembly gymnasium
·
Hikes for all
on Sat. and Sunday— wildflower walks, Fiery Gizzard rambles,
the North Nature Trail of the Assembly, and many more.

The Cumberland Wild Forum
— focusing on the critical areas of the South Cumberland and
plans to protect them
·
Wine & Wildflowers
—a Saturday evening event at the Monteagel Inn to honor the
recipients of the Yeatman Environmental Education Award and
the Trails &Trilliums Tribute Award
·
A Tour of Assembly Gardens
·
The Woodland Garden Gallery—
providing gardeners with ideas and resources for using
native plants, rock, sculpture, and hardscapes that
complement a wooded setting.
·
Family Fun! Petting
zoo, horses, Snakes Alive! Hayrides, Kinder-gardening
·
“Hike Em All”
Author Mary Preistley, president of FSC, will be available
to sign copies of her new hiking guide to the South
Cumberland.

Workshops! Vendors! Great Food!
